Flea and tick tablets work through a dog’s bloodstream. The active ingredient enters the blood and remains in the body for weeks or months so that a parasite feeding on the dog is affected.
But the dog is not simply a vehicle for delivering a substance to a parasite. The dog is a living body.
When the body is already carrying a burden
Many dogs have been carrying significant burdens for a long time:
- Processed food that does not suit them.
- Chronic inflammation in the digestive system or skin.
- Medications, vaccines and a stressful urban environment.
When we introduce substances with neurological effects on parasites into an already overwhelmed system, we add another element that the body must manage and eliminate.
The effect does not have to appear immediately. It may emerge later through a completely different system, as worsening skin allergies, unstable digestion or reduced capacity for recovery.
The deeper question
Instead of asking only, “Which substance will kill the parasite?”, it is worth asking: “What conditions in the body and environment allow parasites to establish themselves?”
When the body and environment provide favorable conditions for parasites, a tablet treats only the external result. Biological repair begins when we build a strong, protected and balanced body from within, one that is less attractive to parasites and better able to maintain its health.
